How I work

Together we will explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours so you can develop a better understanding of yourself and others. We can discover your own solutions – whether that’s making effective changes in your life or finding ways of coping with problems that have no solution. My aim is to carefully guide you whilst giving you a sense of agency and control to move forward with your life.

I believe the relationship between therapist and client to be very important and whilst we unpick issues together, I will offer a space for you to freely explore what is troubling you in a warm, non-judgemental, and confidential environment.  I can be direct and challenge at times but always in a mindful and empathetic manner. I will work towards your best interests and “walk by your side” from the beginning to the end.

Each client will present their own unique problems, contexts, circumstances, and vulnerabilities that will respond differently. Therefore, I am a strong advocate for a flexible integrative approach that holds diverse methods in one container. My integrative approach combines various modalities such as Person Centered, CBT, Transactional Analysis, IFS, Gestalt, Psychodynamic, Solution Focused, Positive Psychology, Compassion Focused and Mindfulness. If appropriate, I will also give tools and ways of thinking to use outside the therapeutic hour.

Sessions: Counselling sessions take place the same time and date weekly and last for 50 minutes.  The number of sessions will depend on you.  Short term work is usually 8-10 sessions, long term 10+.

Face  to Face: Sessions take place at Harbour House, Kingsbridge. Harbour House is a community hub comprising of an art gallery,  a vegetarian café with a secluded garden and yoga studios. My room is  a bright, quiet and private space at the top of the building.

Online: Video sessions are for anyone residing in the UK. We will be holding our sessions in a safe, quiet and private space.

Fees: £50 per session, payable before each session by bank transfer.
